The next day, on 6th July, Nick Vujicic and "Standing Rock" will appeal to the world leaders, during opening ceremony on the Main stage, to be united in efforts to avoid current ecological disaster. Also, Exit Festival 2017 celebrates 50 years since the Summer of love 1967 when revolutionary hippie movement changed the world in peaceful fight for human rights, racial, social and gender equality. Nick Vujicic sent a powerful message shortly before visiting the most popular music event in this part of Europe:
"I`m so excited to be coming back to the beautiful country of Serbia, but this time - through EXIT! I`m gonna be at the Exit concert as we are celebrating 50 years since the release of the Summer of Love 1967. I love you guys so much and I am thankful that we can all be one voice, one love in one accord spreading messages of peace, love and hope. In the world that we live in, I am telling you right now, we need more peace. Love you guys so much and I`ll be seeing you there at the Exit, at Petrovaradin Fortress in July!" Vujicic will, on this occasion, support Novi Sad as the European capital of culture 2021 and the Youth capital of Europe 2019.
Nicholas James Vujicic was born on 4th December 1982 in Melbourne, as first child in Vujicic family. He was born with tetra-amelia syndrome without fully formed limbs. Nick was born without arms and legs - he had no legs, but two small feet, one of which had two toes. His parents were desperate, but life pointed them in another, unexpected direction. Initially, a state law prevented Nick from attending a mainstream school due to his physical disability in spite of a lack of mental impairment. However, Vujicic became one of the first physically disabled students integrated into a mainstream school once those laws changed. He learned to write using two toes on one foot, and to use a computer using a special "heel and toe" method. He successfully coped with everyday actions like combing, shaving, washing teeth and using phone.
However, his lack of limbs made him a target for school bullies, and he fell into a severe depression. At age eight, he contemplated suicide several times. His love for his parents prevented him from following through. While growing and getting used to his own abilities, Nick realized that his achievements inspire a lot of people. A key turning point in his faith came when his mother showed him a newspaper article about a man dealing with a severe disability. Vujicic realized he wasn't unique in his struggles and began to embrace his lack of limbs. He became more active and joined charities with fundraising for various programmes that help people with disabilities. At the age of 17, he started to give talks at his prayer group, and later founded his non-profit organization, "Life Without Limbs".
Vujicic graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a double major in accountancy and financial planning. He started travelling and giving motivational speeches world wide. He published his first book "Life Without Limits" in 2010. He starred in a few documentaries. He lives in California at the moment. By getting across motivational messages, Nick became media star and world role model. He has shared his experiences with 6.5 million people in 63 countries worldwide and his advice have heard 16 presidents and 9 governments. Nick Vujicic`s books are bestsellers in millions of copies and they change lives. Appearances of this motivational speaker are unforgettable experiences for all those who had the opportunity to hear him.
A wise story follows a hip hopper named Aaron Turgeon who presents himself to the audience Prolific The Rapper. He is a representative of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, which has as a mission fight for life space. "Standing Rock" got the attention of the world when it managed to stop the building of oil pipeline across the river Missouri, the main source of drinking water, with peaceful protests and months-long blockade of the construction works. The movement has reached its peak when 2.000 veterans of American army came to protect peaceful protestants of the Sioux tribe, who created a living wall, from violent private security. Shortly after that, the whole world attended a historical scene when the veterans asked and received forgiveness in the name of their ancestors from tribes` leaders for all crimes and injustice done against American Indians.
