April in Belgrade 2025

April Fool's Day! World April Fool's Day, 1st April, a well-known day among all generations. Be creative and come up with a good joke for this year's prank. The day after, 2nd April, is the day when the International Children's Book Day is celebrated around the world.

The holiday has existed since 1967. UNESCO set this day as a reminder of the importance of connecting children with books. If you are wondering why World Children's Book Day is celebrated on 2nd April, it is because that date is actually the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, a writer whose works have inspired generations.

The last day of the month, 30th April, is the date for International Jazz Day. The music festival has been around since 2011 thanks to a jazz pianist and UNESCO ambassador. Herbie Hancock initiated that jazz music gets its own day to be celebrated worldwide, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization enthusiastically accepted the proposal.

Belgrade Marathon 2025

Belgrade is running on 6th April! The marathon that is talked about all over the world has filled the field capacity faster than ever. The fastest to register will show their speed in action in the first week of April.

The 38th Comtrade Belgrade Marathon consists of the following races:

- Marathon 42.2 km

- Half Marathon 21.2 km

- Serbian Post Relay Marathon 21.1 km

- 10K Race

- Pleasure Race 2.3 km

- Responsible Dog Owners Walk.

An innovation in this year's number 1 sporting event in Belgrade is the Plogging Challenge. The debut, unique ecological race combines sport and environmental protection. It is 10 or 21 kilometers race, in a team of 5 members. The purpose of the race is to collect waste during the race, and each full bag brings points. The winning team is the one with the greatest environmental contribution, because the goal is not to reach the finish line first, but to leave the city cleaner than before the marathon.

Belgrade Days 2025

This year's program of the city event Belgrade Days will last from 15th to 17th April. On the first day, a ceremonial session will be held at the Belgrade City Assembly. The second day, 16th April from 10:00 is reserved for the laying of flowers at the Memorial on Kalemegdan. On the last day of the event, the City of Belgrade Awards Ceremony will be held at the Belgrade City Assembly.

Easter 2025

This year, Orthodox and Catholic Easter are celebrated on the same day - 20th April. One of the biggest and most joyful holidays, especially popular among children, is a traditional time for family and friends. Non-working days for Easter 2025 are from 18th to 21st April. Christ is Risen! – Truly He is Risen! is the way to greet during Easter days, and positive thoughts and peace in the heart are a must.
